The Most Beautiful Kitchen Faucet

At the time B and I purchased our home back in December of 2013, I didn’t realized how much excitement could be derived from items such as home appliances, clean tile grout, and new linens.  In our previous rental house, we made our first large appliance purchase together (front loading LG washer and dryer…which I love!).  Even as renters, we did get relatively excited about furniture and other aspects of home decor, but it unquestionably takes a different turn when you own the home you are living in.

Following a pipe replacement under our house, B had the plumber look at our kitchen faucet.  It was the one that came with the house, didn’t have any sort of name brand visible, and awkwardly had way less pressure for the cold water than the hot water.  Result – the plumber pretty much told us in several nicer words that the faucet was a piece of crap, and the only way to fix it was to buy a new one.  Only word I heard….shopping!

For the next few weeks, I was constantly on Pinterest looking at kitchen design and faucet recommendations.  I soon became slightly obsessed with the most beautiful faucet I had ever laid eyes on, the Trinsic® Single Handle Pull-Down Kitchen Faucet with Touch2O Technology.  Not only is it iconic and modern with the fabulous Touch2O technology, but the champagne bronze color gives off the classic and elegant style that I love.  Plus, if anyone thinks there is a swankier name than champagne bronze, we can never be friends.

Next problem, our kitchen has all stainless steel appliances, a stainless sink, and chrome drawer pulls (see above).  My husband was worried that the champagne bronze color would clash, and I totally understood his hesitancy.  After another week or so of kitchen decor research, I found what I was looking for.  Several homes that beautifully incorporated several varying finishes, from chrome and champagne bronze to copper and stainless steel.  See some of my favorites here, here, and here.

Once B was on board, and after tons of shopping around for the best deal, we purchased my dream faucet – I felt like a little kid on Christmas!  We ended up finding the best bang for our buck from Build.com.  After adding (1) the matching plate along the bottom to cover up the now unnecessary holes in our granite where the cold and hot knobs used to be and (2) the matching soap/lotion dispenser to take the place of the old sprayer hole, we ended up paying approximately 1/3 less than we would have from other retailers.  Bonus, all Delta faucets and products have a lifetime warranty.

We installed the faucet back in March and could not be more satisfied.  It not only has become the focal point of our kitchen, but the Touch2O technology is wonderful when B has messy hands while cooking/marinating meat and such.  The LED light that changes to the “color” of the water temperature (blue for cold, pink for warm, red for hot) is also quite handy and a fun feature to show friends and family!

The most important piece of advice I learned through this process is to always go with your gut and that not everything has to match.  An eclectic design style (when properly balanced) can truly add that spark of originality to make your house feel like your home.

Enjoy your weekend!
