Back to Reality…Post Vacation Tips

Last week, B and I vacationed for 7 nights in beautiful Runaway Bay, Jamaica to celebrate our second year wedding anniversary…check out our pics…“yah mon – respect!”  Tuesday, November 8th marked 9 years together, which seems absolutely bizarre at our “young” ages of 27 and 29.  Although long trips are relaxing and often-times much needed, they tend to drift you further and further from the daily routines we all work so hard to establish.

As a result, returning home from a long vacation can be a process.  It tends to take a few days to adjust back to every-day life…especially not having mimosas every morning at breakfast.  True stuff!  To expand on my previous post Globetrotting Prep Guide, here are a few tips and tricks I’ve learned to help lessen the impact of returning back to reality. The Little Things

Over the past few weeks, busy would be an understatement for the hectic lifestyle we’ve been attempting to keep orderly.  We hosted a few parties, played nurse to my mom (who has had a record-breaking number of random surgeries this year…but is recovering fabulously), attended a few concerts and the first UGA home game, visited the astounding construction of my parent’s house renovation, and even took a trip out to George, Washington for a 3-day Dave Matthews Band extravaganza (also known as “Labor Dave”) at the famous Gorge Amphitheater!  I want to apologize for putting Bellinis on Bellemeade on hold, but can assure you all of the crazy shenanigans have provided a plethora of ideas, events, and blogging paraphernalia that I plan to share in the near future!  :: Cheers! :: Continue reading “The Little Things”

Globetrotting Prep Guide

As you all have probably noticed, I am an extreme planner feeling most comfortable when organized and prepared to take on any and all situations.  That being said, traveling tends to add an extra layer of stress onto my normal anxiety ridden craziness.  Not only am I planning and packing the perfect outfit for every possible occasion (who knows when you may need that LBD or a sparkly pink boa?), but will also be leaving behind a life, job, home, and (sometimes) pets to fend for themselves.

From placing various services on hold to prepping your family and household for your absence, these are a few tasks most often forgotten while prepping to leave for vacation. Continue reading “Globetrotting Prep Guide”

The Little Things – Alligator Point

{The Little Things – Alligator Point}

Happy Tuesday!  B and I are currently on vacation in Florida on beautiful Alligator Point.  This place is a private and secluded peninsula in the Gulf of Mexico, only an approximate 5 hour drive from the ATL.  Being first time visitors, we are absolutely stunned with the amount of solitude and charm this place resonates.

We have rented an adorable bungalow on the beach, complete with an outdoor shower and screened-in porch.  Not only are the puppies allowed in the house, they can roam the beach sans leash!  I cannot vouch that this place is any Punta Cana, but Alligator Point is definitely a secluded oasis of natural beauty.  It is perfect for true beach lovers looking for a break from the everyday hustle and bustle of today’s world. Honeymoon in Punta Cana

Honeymoon in Punta Cana

Over the last 8.5 years we’ve been together, Brandon and I have been fortunate enough to travel to several beautiful places. Our absolute favorite – hands down – is Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.  This is where B proposed on the beach in June of 2013 (see our proposal story here) and where we returned for our honeymoon in November of 2014.  The beaches are lined with palm trees that spread nearly the entire beach to the crystal blue water.  It’s absolutely breathtaking.   Continue reading “Honeymoon in Punta Cana”
