The Little Things

The Little Things - Post 4 - Sean's Harvest Market
{Sean’s Harvest Market}

This past week, B’s parents were visiting from Washington.  We packed as many family events into their trip as possible, meeting at Sean’s Harvest Market for dinner and drinks the evening they flew in.  B’s sister and her husband, Sean, opened the local market back in 2012, which is conveniently located on the BeltLine near Piedmont Park.  The food is inspired by their love for the small, impassioned food shops in Europe and New York and could not be more delicious, fresh, or unique.  Stop by to enjoy a bite and the relaxed, welcoming atmosphere and support this trendy local business.  I promise you will not be disappointed!

DIY – Wedding Emergency Kit

DIY – Wedding Emergency Kit

If there is one thing I remember from our wedding day, it was the sheer fact that after a year and a half of planning, I did not want to worry about ANYTHING the day of.  In order to do such, my number one suggestion is to hire a day-of coordinator.  My mother and I wanted to do all of the design and planing ourselves, but wanted someone else to “play us” that day.  It was the absolute best decision we made, as we were able to soak in all of the detail and truly enjoy the day rather than worrying about vendor coordination, rounding up the wedding party, etc.

My second suggestion is to create an Emergency Wedding Kit, containing anything and everything you could possibly need on the big day.  My bridesmaids created one for our wedding, and I recently created a DIY version for a wedding I am a bridesmaid for in a few weeks.  This post will show you how to create your own DIY – Emergency Wedding Kit, along with a free printable item checklist. Wedding Gifts

Wedding Gifts

The day B proposed, exactly 3 years ago today, was one of the most exciting days of my life, thus far (see story here and here).  For a few days we basked in Caribbean bliss, but were genuinely excited to head home and celebrate with friends and family.  After arriving back in Atlanta, as the flurry of shock and excitement started to become more realistic, the upcoming wedding planning and to-do lists naturally became overwhelming.  One of the most difficult tasks we discovered was deciding where to register and what on earth to register for.  B and I lived together for a few years before our engagement, so we had quite the collection of hand-me-down dinnerware, flatware, furniture, and appliances.  Needless to say, our mismatched towels and pint beer glasses weren’t exactly items I could be proud of.  Continue reading “Wedding Gifts”

Honeymoon in Punta Cana

Honeymoon in Punta Cana

Over the last 8.5 years we’ve been together, Brandon and I have been fortunate enough to travel to several beautiful places. Our absolute favorite – hands down – is Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.  This is where B proposed on the beach in June of 2013 (see our proposal story here) and where we returned for our honeymoon in November of 2014.  The beaches are lined with palm trees that spread nearly the entire beach to the crystal blue water.  It’s absolutely breathtaking.   Continue reading “Honeymoon in Punta Cana”
