This past week, B’s parents were visiting from Washington. We packed as many family events into their trip as possible, meeting at Sean’s Harvest Market for dinner and drinks the evening they flew in. B’s sister and her husband, Sean, opened the local market back in 2012, which is conveniently located on the BeltLine near Piedmont Park. The food is inspired by their love for the small, impassioned food shops in Europe and New York and could not be more delicious, fresh, or unique. Stop by to enjoy a bite and the relaxed, welcoming atmosphere and support this trendy local business. I promise you will not be disappointed!
If there is one thing I remember from our wedding day, it was the sheer fact that after a year and a half of planning, I did not want to worry about ANYTHING the day of. In order to do such, my number one suggestion is to hire a day-of coordinator. My mother and I wanted to do all of the design and planing ourselves, but wanted someone else to “play us” that day. It was the absolute best decision we made, as we were able to soak in all of the detail and truly enjoy the day rather than worrying about vendor coordination, rounding up the wedding party, etc.
My second suggestion is to create an Emergency Wedding Kit, containing anything and everything you could possibly need on the big day. My bridesmaids created one for our wedding, and I recently created a DIY version for a wedding I am a bridesmaid for in a few weeks. This post will show you how to create your own DIY – Emergency Wedding Kit, along with a free printable item checklist. Continue reading “DIY – Wedding Emergency Kit”
The day B proposed, exactly 3 years ago today, was one of the most exciting days of my life, thus far (see story here and here). For a few days we basked in Caribbean bliss, but were genuinely excited to head home and celebrate with friends and family. After arriving back in Atlanta, as the flurry of shock and excitement started to become more realistic, the upcoming wedding planning and to-do lists naturally became overwhelming. One of the most difficult tasks we discovered was deciding where to register and what on earth to register for. B and I lived together for a few years before our engagement, so we had quite the collection of hand-me-down dinnerware, flatware, furniture, and appliances. Needless to say, our mismatched towels and pint beer glasses weren’t exactly items I could be proud of. Continue reading “Wedding Gifts”
As you all have probably noticed, I am an extreme planner feeling most comfortable when organized and prepared to take on any and all situations. That being said, traveling tends to add an extra layer of stress onto my normal anxiety ridden craziness. Not only am I planning and packing the perfect outfit for every possible occasion (who knows when you may need that LBD or a sparkly pink boa?), but will also be leaving behind a life, job, home, and (sometimes) pets to fend for themselves.
From placing various services on hold to prepping your family and household for your absence, these are a few tasks most often forgotten while prepping to leave for vacation. Continue reading “Globetrotting Prep Guide”
Happy Tuesday! B and I are currently on vacation in Florida on beautiful Alligator Point. This place is a private and secluded peninsula in the Gulf of Mexico, only an approximate 5 hour drive from the ATL. Being first time visitors, we are absolutely stunned with the amount of solitude and charm this place resonates.
We have rented an adorable bungalow on the beach, complete with an outdoor shower and screened-in porch. Not only are the puppies allowed in the house, they can roam the beach sans leash! I cannot vouch that this place is any Punta Cana, but Alligator Point is definitely a secluded oasis of natural beauty. It is perfect for true beach lovers looking for a break from the everyday hustle and bustle of today’s world. Continue reading “The Little Things – Alligator Point”
Happy Friday! B and I are looking forward to a few good friends visiting over the next couple of days and the one week countdown to our beach trip next Friday. Remember to take time to enjoy the little things and have a wonderful weekend!

Hello and Happy Mother’s Day!! We had a wonderful weekend full of friends and family, and I hope you all endured the same! Continue reading “Happy Mother’s Day”
Over the last 8.5 years we’ve been together, Brandon and I have been fortunate enough to travel to several beautiful places. Our absolute favorite – hands down – is Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. This is where B proposed on the beach in June of 2013 (see our proposal story here) and where we returned for our honeymoon in November of 2014. The beaches are lined with palm trees that spread nearly the entire beach to the crystal blue water. It’s absolutely breathtaking. Continue reading “Honeymoon in Punta Cana”
I often notice that the hustle and bustle of every day life leaves us forgetting to take the time to stop, smell the roses, and enjoy the little things. These posts will serve as an avenue to routinely share a few items that provided some sort of inspiration, significance, or simple joy to my life. Hopefully, I can motivate you to do the same!
